For households that share money
GrayBook is a shared money tracker for couples and families. Everyone in the household adds their own spending, and you both see the same running total — not two apps that never agree.
Free while it is early. No card, no bank connection.
Example household · your ledger starts empty
The problem
Not through big arguments — through small gaps. One of you paid the bill in cash, the other assumed it was still due. By the 25th nobody can reconstruct where the month went.
“Did you already pay the electricity, or should I?”
Asked twice a month, in every household“I don’t know where it went. It just went.”
The 28th of the month“I track mine in an app. She keeps a notebook.”
Two records, neither completeWhat you get
Invite by email. Each person adds their own entries and everyone sees the same month. Leave the household and your personal ledger stays yours.
Cash, card, bank transfer, wallet — set up your own payment methods and categories instead of fighting a US app’s defaults.
Rent, school fees, subscriptions and loan instalments post themselves on schedule, so a quiet month doesn’t look cheaper than it was.
Set a target with a number on it — the deposit, the trip, the emergency fund — and watch the whole household move it along.
Import your existing Excel or CSV records so you start with your history instead of an empty app. Notes and tasks live alongside it.
Add it to your home screen. Enter something with no signal and it is kept on your phone, then sent up the moment you are back online.
What it costs
GrayBook is free while it is early — no card, no trial countdown. When paid plans start, here is exactly what it will be, so nothing lands on you as a surprise.

A couple pays LKR 258. A family of five pays LKR 387 — the cap means inviting people never costs more than three.
Takes a minute. Email and a password — that is it.
Straight answers
Built and run by one developer in Sri Lanka. That means it moves fast and listens closely — and that there is no support desk, just me. Judge it on that basis.
Your ledger is not sold, mined, or shown to anyone outside your household. You can export it and delete your account from inside the app.
Nothing links to your bank account and no card details are stored. You enter what you spend — which is also why it works with cash.
Enough to keep it running and maintained, low enough that a household does not think twice. If it is wrong, tell me — I would rather hear it now than after you have left.
The price, a missing feature, something that broke — it comes straight to me and I read every one. This is the stage where what you say actually changes the product.
